Thanks for this. I'm a big fan.
I've always preferred his version of 'Morning Dew' to the Dead's - flame away folks.
I would guess that Jeff's picking style evolved as a side product of the right hand fretboard tapping technique that he now uses.
I would think that it would probably feel quite wrong to use a pick with that kind of technique.
